SCHOOL, CURRENT ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lucy teaches at Barrow Primary School. She is currently teaching in Reception. Her roles also include ICT coordinor, E-safety lead, mentoring, teacher training and in-house support. As the key area lead, Lucy works very closely with SNITT in the recruitment and training of Schools Direct Salaried trainees. In a previous setting, she was a key practitioner for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Lucy`s particular professional interests include:

Her recent projects and achievements include:
Deputy Headteacher at Barrow primary school.
A terms secondment as Deputy Headteacher to a school in special measures. Rapid, but sustainable improvements were quickly achieved through setting ambitious, clear and achievable goals which were underpinned by a detailed Raising Attainment Plan. Lucy implemented rigorous monitoring with high expectations and shared accountability; evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives and learning outcomes to inform future action planning being at the core of successful improvement.
Enrichment days for Schools Direct Salaried trainees.
ITT Lead for West Suffolk Consortium. Recruiting and supporting SNITT students and mentors through placements in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 throughout their training year.
Through the ‘Aspiring Leaders programme’ has developed effective coaching and mentoring skills. Lucy is able to support and influence colleagues to raise standards and sustain improvement.
Lucy led a literacy project which aimed to reduce differences in outcomes between specific groups of children. As part of this work, she led the NCSL funded project called ‘Narrowing the Gap’ to support vulnerable children in their writing across the whole school from Early Years through to Year 4. Working in partnership with other schools, Lucy was able to initiate and design a programme of teaching to engage and inspire both staff and children.
